Collaboration for Community Wellness

 

Once Upon A Teen joined forces with the Teen Wellness Alliance and the Olivia E. Mitchell LA City Youth Council to host an in-person community wellness booth at the LA Times Festival of Books — the largest book festival in the United States, attracting over 150,000 attendees each year.

 

Held annually at the University of Southern California, the festival celebrates literature, storytelling, and creative expression through author panels, book signings, exhibits, and live entertainment.

 

Our booth focused on teen mental health and wellness, offering visitors a space to learn about our initiatives, explore practical resources, and engage in conversations about emotional well-being. Visitors also received custom-designed bookmarks highlighting our mission and ways to get involved.
 

💛 Events like this remind us how storytelling — whether through books or shared experiences — can build connection, empathy, and understanding across generations.
